This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. This lowest e string (bass string) by savarez (set for 15$) sounds quite smooth and yet full on a 59 cm (3/4) spanish guitar by lamancha.

F#2 played on the lowest string (e) of an acoustic guitar with an hammer-on technique on the left hand and with a mediator for the right hand. Recorded with a zoom h2n.

This is a sawtooth waveform suitable for easily tuning guitar by ear, comprised of 20 seconds each of e-a-d-g-b-e in sequence. Adjust guitar volume to same volume as the tone, ideally through the same audio output. Tune the string close to the tone, then listen for the subtle beat-frequency indicating not-quite-perfect tune. When the beat frequency goes away, your guitar string is in perfect tune. Also useful for adjustable bridges. The open string and its 12th fret octave will both produce no beat-frequency when the bridge is adjusted properly.

Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

Sample of a metallic percussion hit. The sound is quite dark and muffled. I call it underwater drum, because it sounds to me like it's underwater. This sample is tuned to a1 but there is a very dominant overtone at b1, which is the musical interval of a minor second. The source of the sample was the platter of a dismantled hard disk drive, hit with a wooden mallet. It was then pitched down a lot. The sample is almost raw, i just added some slight eq. The sample was intended to be used with a sampler, you may want to add some reverb for this and filter the previously mentioned overtone, when you use it in combination with other tuned instruments. This sound was originally created for the coursera course "audio signal processing for music applications. " i recorded this sound myself with a zoom h2 microphone and a kala classical ukelele.

16-bit 44100 hz quality, but some bitcrush has been applied so the real samplerate is unknown. I modified the drums preset in labchirp. These are just some sounds i found interesting while testing and modifying the preset. These are unedited, so some clean up might be needed.
